You shouldn't use Meta AI glasses.
I've always used different kinds of cameras. I've probably had about 50 of them in my lifetime—from film to Polaroids, a bunch of digital cameras, pocket cameras, all the little gadgets, and the ones on phones. But I think the issue with Meta AI is that phone cameras, or even cameras in glasses, have been around for a while before Meta did theirs. But that's not the issue. I think people have the problem because of surveillance—of course, AI, but also Mark Zuckerberg being part of this tech oligarchy. A lot of these young kids grew up under surveillance, so they can't even do anything. They're in a state of arrested development, not taking chances because they're afraid of being recorded, put on TikTok, and becoming a meme. So they're unable to participate socially in the social scenes they see in movies because of this fear. And without being able to socialize and scared of being recorded, they feel even lonelier. So this is where the issue around the Meta glasses is coming from. But yeah, I find them really handy. Even before they took photos, I had the Bose glasses that played music through the frames using bone conduction. They come in handy. I didn't like having something in my ears all the time. And walking around in San Francisco, you've got to be aware of your surroundings. You don't want to take out your phone in some areas, so being able to use hands‑free communications definitely benefits. But you read in the comment—what I find a lot is that people will say, “Well, what did you do before this tech?” I find that really interesting. And I don’t think that when people get a taste of something and it becomes part of their everyday lives, they want to do something manual. I think that’s why Gen Z is infatuated with these analog things like Sony Cybershot digital cameras, records, or even cassette tapes, because they grew up in this non‑tangible world, not owning much other than their clothes. While other generations have done the manual things like recording TV shows on VHS and waiting for a song to play on the radio to catch it on cassette tape, they've done that.
