There are many, but the more recent one that's memorable is kind of basic: Matrix, I think, because there's that tension with technology, but also the innate human need for the basics—food, clothing, shelter, sex. I think that in this dystopian time we're in now, 2026, with AI, it kind of feels like that. Of course, the whole red‑pilling thing got appropriated by the stupid‑ass Trump people, but it is what it is.
