I took some college prep courses for physical therapy because when I was young I really liked sports—basketball, football, baseball—and I knew that I didn't have the discipline or probably the skill to become a professional player. I also collected sports cards. That was my side hustle, or I guess my hustle, for many years. So when it was time to think about a career, I thought, okay, it'd be cool to work as a physical therapist for one of these sports teams. I took those courses and even had an internship at a physical therapy center, and my days were pretty much wrapping ankles on old people. This guy who worked there told me that he had the same aspirations when he was young, but he said the reality is that most likely you're just going to work with old people. What did it for me was that I was doing an ultrasound therapy or something on this dude's butt crack, and I wiped gel out of his butt crack and thought, shoot, I don't want to do this. I'm done.
