Who was the most influential person in your early life?
Probably my grandfather. When I was little, I remember spending a lot of time with him and being curious about who he was as a person—his jokes, the way he would take the bus around San Francisco, take me to Chinatown, and tell me stories. I don't know if they were real or made up, but it was interesting to hear and see this old guy, and I didn't know much about him.
