Did they try to retaliate, or did your 'punching up' force them to back down? And get specific: what about that script made it *undeniably* modern to you, despite their supposed authority?
There wasn't really any fallout. Actually, one of the professors we went back and forth with was commenting, leaving comments on my blog. I was able to trace the IP address back to the University of the Philippines. About six or seven years later, I met one of them at a conference in the Philippines, and they were nothing but nice to me. So I think a lot of it is all bark and no bite.
